A lot of “fitspiration” (memes and images that purport to inspire people to get fit) are rooted in self-hate and shame.  Beauty Redefined talks more about the problems of some types of “fitspiration” here.  I don’t know about you, but shame has never been motivating.

To my great delight, there have recently been quite a few body-positive commercials/advertisements which help women refocus on what fitness is really about.  Although a couple of the videos are trying to sell you a product, I think advertisers have come a long way when it comes to talking about health and fitness. I post them for your viewing pleasure (and information).

Get out there.  Get fit.  Stop the hate. Be inspired.
