Another day. Another dollar. Another Black man shot. Another gay person shot. Another police officer shot. Nothing new under the sun. Life goes on right?

No. Life can’t just “go on.” We need to address this.

As Adventists, we are really good about talking about end time events and preaching present truth.

But I find that when it comes to present day events and present day realities, we are silent, we are complicit, we are ignorant, we are apathetic, we are ambivalent.

Maya Angelou, Humility and Divine Amazement

When was the last time you sat in awe of the fact that God loves you? When was the last time that you expressed gratitude that God – the Maker of rivers and tears – has set aside time in His schedule of controlling the world to talk to you? Does it move you that He will give you His individual attention at the drop of the hat – yea, before you call He’s already answered and while you are speaking He has already heard?

It should.
